Chief Justice Bryant | Family Court of Australia

The Honourable Diana Bryant AO QC was appointed Chief Justice of the Family Court of Australia on 5 July 2004. She succeeded Alastair Bothwick Nicholson AO RFD QC.

Previously she was Chief Federal Magistrate of the Federal Magistrates Court of Australia (2000-04).

Her Honour is originally from Western Australia. She commenced her legal career as a solicitor in Victoria in 1970. She was admitted to the Victorian Bar in 1990 and was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1997. She holds a Bachelor of Laws from Melbourne University and Master of Laws from Monash University.
